Chicky Love

Harley and Simon didn't care about the baby chicks as much as Lucy and Katie Mae. I guess it was their motherly instincts but they hovered over those little chicks and it seems like they truly loved them. They were both so gentle with them. Even Oscar didn't seem to be feel the need for a chicken nugget snack.

Two Precious Videos

Our Silkies are such a joy. Lucy is always so gentle with the babies. She just adores them.

Our sweet "kids"

A cat for the dogs.

Meet Oscar, the Cat.

I was worried about introducing Oscar to the dogs because I was afraid that the cat would be scared of them. When we first brought him home, we kept him in his crate up high so the dogs could not crowd him. It quickly became obvious that Oscar absolutely loved the dogs. The feeling is mutual and the dogs think it is pretty great that we brought them a cat home.

A few more..

Just a few more pictures to show you how stinkin' cute these little ones are.

So big so quick

Isn't it amazing how quickly they grow up? Each of these pictures were taken just weeks apart. By the time they are two months old, they almost look like full grow ducks.

Baby chicks and ducks

What a joy these little ones are! It seems like they are only this little for 2 minutes. Thank goodness for my camera with a video option to capture this.

Happy Birthday Marjie

I have not updated this blog in FOREVER! Well, it is about time I do. It is my aunt's birthday tomorrow so I wanted to do this as my birthday present to her. I am so bad about keeping in touch with people and it is especially bad when I don't keep in touch often enough with people I genuinely care about. So Marjie - all these posts I do tonight are for you. I hope you have the happiest of birthdays!!

Whitewater Adventure

We had a blast on this whitewater trip in Leavenworth Washington. It was the first time I had ever gone whitewater rafting. I was terrified at first and about 15 minutes into it I was swearing that I would never do it again and I just wanted out. But about half way through, I started getting the hang of it and let myself enjoy the experience. By the end, I wanted to start all over and do it again right then and there. Mom and Mark were very generous and paid for the entire family to go. THANK YOU for that! It was a memory I will remember for a life time.

Happy Children

Katie Mae is seven months old today. She is the irriating little sister in every sense of the word. But Simon is so sweet and good natured that he lets her play with him even though at almost 11 years old, he'd rather sleep than play. Simon turns 11 years old Oct. 15. Kitty who is going on 17 1/2 just sits there and watches them play. I don't think there is any play left in her but she seems to like Katie Mae who by the way is totally potty trained!

Cows

Anyone who knows me at all knows I love cows. One of the things I love about our land is that we have cattle farms all around us. I hope to have several cows of my own one day but for now I just have to enjoy my neighbors cows.

Love

They make my heart squeeze!

Life is meant for smiling

I took this picture at the fair. Little things in life make me smile and these little cuties definitely made me smile.

Alabama National Fair

I look forward to the fair every year. This year Trace Adkins was there and it was a great concert. I am just like a kid at the fair. I can't wait to go to the circus and get cotton candy and a snow cone. I love to watch the racing pigs and the sea lions. I enjoy seeing all the live stock also. The entire atmosphere just makes me smile.

Trying to get a good picture

Uugghh..it is so frustrating. Katie Mae is too cute for words but I just can't get a good picture of her which captures how adorable she is. Oh well.
